Scuba Diving at Lagoa Misteriosa

Scuba Diving – Lagoa Misteriosa is one of the most iconic underwater experiences in Bonito (MS). In deep, crystal-clear blue waters, visitors can observe walls, tree trunks, rocks, and the famous “unknown depth” of this flooded cave (one of the deepest in Brazil). Snorkeling and diving activities are usually suspended from mid-September to mid-April due to microalgae blooms; however, advanced diving can take place year-round.

Advanced Scuba Diver — (available year-round)

• Certification: Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver

• Minimum age: 18 years

• Maximum depth: up to 30 m

Optional

• Lunch at the Rio da Prata Reception Center.

Additional Information

• Duration: half-day (can be combined on the same day with a float on the Rio da Prata or a visit to Buraco das Araras)

• Distance: 45 km from Bonito

• Operations: snorkeling/diving may be suspended from mid-September to mid-April due to microalgae; the advanced course operates year-round

• Documentation: Certified divers must present their C-Card at the reception center

Rules and Guidelines

• Prohibited: use of sunscreen, insect repellent, and tanning lotions during the activity

Restrictions

• Pregnant women (at any stage of pregnancy)

• Spontaneous pneumothorax (history)

• Postoperative period following invasive surgery (up to 30 days)

• Epilepsy, history of stroke, heart attack, or anaphylactic shock

• Labyrinthitis

• Severe chronic respiratory diseases (asthma, sinusitis, bronchitis, emphysema, smoking, etc.)

• Pacemaker recipients (not recommended)
