Refúgio da Barra is a day-use beach resort located on the clearest stretch of the Formoso River, about 17 km from downtown Bonito (MS)—approximately a 26-minute drive or motorcycle ride. There are 200 meters of swimming area spread across three charming decks, perfect for a peaceful day of sunbathing and enjoying nature. In front of the restaurant, a 30-meter deck features a pool within the river for children up to 5 years old. The restaurant serves à la carte lunch with options including fish, meat, and light meals.

Buraco das Araras is an impressive doline—a crater formed by the collapse of a cave ceiling—with a circumference of about 500 m and a depth of 100 m. The 970-meter trail winds around the edge of the formation and leads to two overlooks, from which you can observe scarlet macaws in flight and a lake at the bottom of the sinkhole, a common habitat for a large alligator. A local guide is already included in the birdwatching activity.

Boca da Onça – Rappelling + Adventure Trail combines adrenaline and nature in the Salobra River Canyon. The platform rappelling descent is the longest in Brazil (90 m) and is performed “negative-style” (without using the feet to brace against the rock) to preserve the delicate limestone formations.
